Learning to Work with the Stream-of-Consciousness (SoC) dialogue practice
Tuesday 17 March — 7.00–9.30 pm CET — Online

How can we facilitate dialogues — including about sensitive or contentious topics — that move beyond surface exchange, foster novel insight, and generate connection?
How can we host conversations that matter — that build trust and support positive change?
In this 2.5-hour Workshop, you’ll learn about Stream-of-Consciousness (SoC) dialogue — a simple but remarkably potent dialogical practice that supports connection, mutual understanding, and collective sense-making.
Student evaluations — and our experience working with this practice for over a decade — suggest that it not only creates the conditions for unusually rich conversations, but also helps people develop the very capabilities that make such conversations possible — like listening, self-reflection, and openness to difference.
Next to it being generally effective, the method is also easy to learn and adaptable to many contexts — from education and facilitation to leadership, coaching, and community work.
And that’s exactly what you’ll gain by participating in this workshop: you will not only learn about the method, but experience it, and get ready to use it in your own setting.
The workshop is therefore experiential by design. You will:
- learn about the research behind the practice;
- understand the core principles that make it generative and safe;
- discover why and how it supports learning, collaboration, and transformation;
- participate in a Stream-of-Consciousness dialogue yourself;
- explore how to use it in your own context;
- design your first SoC-dialogue practice about a topic of your own choice;
- and receive a manual with clear instructions, steps, and variations.
This workshop is suitable for educators, facilitators, coaches, team leaders, and anyone interested in cultivating deeper and more meaningful conversations.
